- Administer human resources policies, procedures and programs, including FMLA, disability, tuition reimbursement, safety, work conduct, etc.
- Ensure and enforce compliance with all applicable employment laws, company policies and collective bargaining agreement terms.
- Coordinate talent acquisition and talent management activities for hourly personnel such as on-boarding, and job bidding process administration.
- Assist in coordinating hourly on-boarding.
- Maintain and ensure accuracy of time and attendance records for all employees, including accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll.
- Support HR efforts related to investigations, governmental inquiries, grievance resolution, performance and absence management and disciplinary actions
- Act as change agent to continuously improve processes, methods, past practices, etc.
- Plan, organize and coordinate various projects, programs and committees related to employee relations, safety, internal communications, etc.
- Support local leadership in action planning related to employee engagement.
- Maintain employee personnel records.
- Processs various employment actions in accordance with internal procedures.
- Respond to day-to-day HR employee inquiries and request.
- Build strong relationships with operations team, Union representatives and other business partners to deliver business objectives and resolve issues.
- Foster an effective, inclusive work environment, effectively balancing employee advocacy with conservancy of company goals and values.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or a related field. Certification as an HR Professional (i.e. PHR) is preferred.
- 1-3 years’ experience in Human Resources, preferably in a manufacturing and union environment.
- Knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations.
- Must be proficient in Office Management software (e.g. Excel, setting up spreadsheets, extracting data into and from pivot tables, etc.) and PowerPoint.
- Adept at using the internet to research and obtain valid information.
- Preferably have worked with SAP for payroll and people data management and ADP eTime for time and attendance management.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to easy build credibility with associates on the shop floor.
- Exceptional organizational and record keeping skills.
